For Episode 2 of the first season of Shell Game, I set up a dedicated line to receive spam and scam calls—all of which are answered by my AI voice agent (a clone of my voice, powered by an AI chat bot).
These proved to be so popular that I’ve created this regular feed of calls received by AI Evan Ratliff, for subscribers to enjoy at their leisure. Latest couple are free, subscribe for the rest.
Most of the calls are from human telemarketers and scammers, hawking everything from funeral planning, to accident compensation, to roofing, to health insurance. Some are two minute quick shots, other conversations go on for a half hour or more. Occasionally there’s a golden AI-on-AI call. Sometimes when I need a pickup, I’ll go in and crank up the temperature (randomness) setting for a few days, and see what comes back.
Please note that every one of these calls in unsolicited. None of these services, goods, sweepstakes, or surveys have been requested or entered into voluntarily by me, or AI Evan.
“Diving into that other stuff.” (AI on AI, 12/10/24)
“I appreciate you reaching out.” (AI on AI, 12/10/24)
“Very clever buddy.” (12/9/24)
